Traveling alone or accompanied is a great adventure if you decide to make the most out of it. The difference between being a traveler and a tourist is in the experiences and risks you take, we guess that you are looking for an unforgettable experience, we want to share with you a list of things you must do when traveling abroad. Make a list and don’t forget any of them!
Forget the map!
At least for one day leave the map in your room, explore new places, you will find things you never imagined, you could even make new friends!
Eat in a popular restaurant
Ask around to find a popular restaurant, don’t forget to ask the locals, find the place and enjoy the food. If the place offers typical food, then order it right away!
Learn the language
Don’t be afraid of traveling to a place where a different language is spoken, take the risk of interacting with new places, different cultures and a new language. Try to learn a bit more about the language. If you decide to travel to Guatemala, you could learn not only about spanish, but also about some of the 22 other mayan languages spoken in the country.
Ride the train or a bus
Taking public transportation is going to give you the chance of getting a better view of the place you visit, it will give you a wider perspective. This time take a map with you, and make sure you know how to get back to the place you started at.
Make a scrapbook!
Every day of your trip write down something about what you saw or did, that way you will never forget any detail you keep. In your scrapbook you can also have the checklist of places to visit or things to do.
Don’t forget the souvenirs
You never know if you will be able to go back to that place, so take at least one thing to remember it by. There are different kinds of things you can take for yourself or your friends and family, some of them may even be collectable. Local markets are perfect places to go and find traditional craftwork, toys, and unique traditional objects, explore them!
The above are some of the things you cannot forget in your checklist when you travel abroad. Is there anything you want to add?
